  1. The award shall be called the "Lifetime Service Award." The award shall be named in honor of the first recipient.
  2. Nominees for the award must have served as an officer, board member, committee chair and/or in another significant capacity for a minimum of ten years.
  3. Nominees must have made significant contributions to the Bird Study Group or have had a major positive influence in the success of the Bird Study Group.
  4. The award will be a plaque and an appropriate gift with value up to $100.
  5. The selection committee for the Lifetime Service Award shall be the board of directors of the Shreveport Society for Nature Study, Bird Study Group.
  6. A majority vote of the selection committee is needed to approve the award.
  7. Nominations in writing will describe the services of the nominee. Any Bird Study Group member in good standing can make nominations to the selection committee.
  8. The Lifetime Service Award shall be the premier recognition award of the Bird Study Group.
  9. The Bird Study Group will maintain a permanent plaque at the Bird Study Group headquarters with the names of all the recipients of the Lifetime Service Award inscribed thereon.

  1. The award shall be called the "President's Award."
  2. The purpose is to recognize persons, families, companies, and/or organizations that enhance or take special measures to promote birding and/or the Bird Study Group in northwestern Louisiana.
  3. The award will be an appropriate gift not to exceed $50 in value.
  4. The selection committee for the President's Award shall be the board of directors of the Shreveport Society for Nature Study, Bird Study Group.
  5. A majority vote of the selection committee is needed to approve the award.
  6. Nominations in writing will describe why the Bird Study Group should recognize the nominee. Any Bird Study Group member in good standing can make nominations to the selection committee.
